Best Western Hotel Causeway Bay
Best Western is the largest hotel chain in the world, Best Western Hotel Hong Kong is one of their properties renovated from the old building. It is located in an ally of the tourist area, which makes you feel the local side of Hong Kong when you pass by the Wan Chai market.
Way to the hotel
You could take either bus or subway to Causeway Bay. If you are taking the subway, take exit A to Time’s Square (drop off near Time’s Square or Paterson’s Street if you are taking a bus). Take the escalator near the Toast Box of the shopping mall and you will see the bridge on your right-hand side. Walk under the bridge and take the second crossroad, you’ll see the hotel. If you walk through the local market, you’ll see the hotel too. It’s the highest building in that area so it’s quite easy to notice the building.
The lobby is located on 3/F so you should take the escalator aside. They charge HKD500 for room deposit.
We have booked a normal double suite room with breakfast included, it costs HKD500 in total.
The room view is so-so but overall is satisfactory. The room is quite new and clean, yet we had a problem with the use of the key lock, the door is not unlocked with the key all the time. The problem is minor thou.
They charge extra for snacks and drinks in the room. There is information about the facilities and services provided by the hotel, like airport pick-up service for HKD140 per person (the airport express costs ard HKD 115 if you book for last-minute tickets)
We visited the spa facilities on the rooftop in the afternoon. The area is quite tiny but the night view shall be nice (prior appointment is required)
It’s out of our expectations because it’s in buffet mode. Although there are limited choices of food and drinks, they include both Western and Chinese cuisine. You could make your own salad, bake a slice of toast or/and have Chinese fried noodles. The breakfast time is from 07.00-10.00 while the check-out time is 12.00. You could use the washroom after the meal in your own room!
While some hostels charge HKD200 per person, HKD50 more and you could stay in a hotel with breakfast. A great deal! More importantly, the location is convenient and easy to reach out!
Causeway Bay area
You shouldn’t need any guide for visiting the area because they have everything here for shopping mainly. Walking along Hennessy Road, there are a few shopping malls like Lee’s Garden, Time’s Square and Sogo. Shoplicohol could spend a whole day here!
Tsui Wah Restaurant
Tsui Wah is a local brand which is famous for both tourist and the locals. It’s quite rare if you understand Hong Kong people. Hong Kong people like trying different styles of food, it is not common for them to fond in a local chain restaurant.
The price is affordable and you should try the Hongkongese milk tea.
